Reckon making vid-game is all fun, play and pirate talk? You betcha!
KZ: How many times was the word "Yarrr" used during the making of LEGO Pirates?
Phill: There were far too many "Yarrs" used and a personal favorite for me was greeting people with a good "Ahoy!" I'm sure I've heard more "Yarrs" then "Hellos" recently.
KZ: How much time did you get to spend playing with LEGO Pirates sets in making this game?
Phill: The team spent a lot of time with the Pirates sets. LEGO sets are great fun to mess around with in the office. I have a LEGO cannon on my desk at the moment.
KZ: LEGO Ninjago is launching around the same time as LEGO Pirates - who's gonna win?
Phill: Pirates have to win. They have cannons!

KZ: Your LEGO games tell cool stories without dialogue - How do you make your characters so expressive?
Phill: The animators do a great job of capturing the characters' movements and mannerisms to tell the story. They watch scenes from the films over and over to make sure every little movement is captured correctly.
KZ: How many characters can you unlock in LEGO Pirates?
Phill: 100
KZ: Would you rather be keelhauled or made to walk the plank?
Phill: Walk the plank. It sounds much less painful.
KZ: Hook or peg-leg, which is tougher and scarier?
Phill: A hook is pretty scary but I'll have to go with a peg-leg as we have a special move called the peg-leg slam which characters can do in LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean.
KZ: What was the single most fun day of making LEGO Pirates?
Phill: We did have one of the team dress up as Jack Sparrow for a day for charity which was a lot of fun.
KZ: What does the 3DS bring to the game?
Phill: The 3DS is great as the 3D screen really helps bring the world alive.
