Marvel has announced 11 new movies will be hitting the big screen over the next few years!

The comic creators have made sure some of our favourite movie characters will be back, with sequels confirmed for Captain America, Thor, and Guardians of the Galaxy, plus The Avengers with a two-part movie. Wahoo! Iron Man fans will be excited to hear that he’ll also be starring in Captain America 3: Civil War!

The other big news is that Marvel is bringing some great characters to the movies for the first time, with Captain Marvel, Black Panther​, Doctor Strange and The Inhumans confirmed for new films.

Black Panther is T’Challa, the king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda, which is also where the metal used to make Captain America’s shield was found. He also be appearing in the next Captain America film. Check out this awesome concept art for his suit design!

There have been several versions of Captain Marvel in the comic books, but the film will show the most recent incarnation Carol Danvers. She is a popular character among Marvel fans – one time she even hit a shark with another shark. Whoa!

Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme, is the primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats in the comics!

The Inhumans are a genetically altered race of super-people, so it sounds like the movie will be pretty awesome.

Looks like Marvel fans are in for an action-packed few years at the movies!
