Everyone’s favourite smuggler, thief, Millennium Falcon pilot and scruffy nerf herder, Han Solo, is getting his own movie!

That’s right K-Zoners – Lucasfilm and Disney are working on a film set in Han Solo’s younger years, that shows the young scoundrel’s life before meeting Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Mos Eisley cantina in A New Hope.

The Han Solo movie doesn’t have an official title yet, but Phil Lord and Chris Miller (who also made The LEGO Movie and the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs films, and are currently working on The LEGO Batman Movie) will direct it. We trust them to make a good Han Solo flick!

On May 4th, AKA Star Wars Day, Chris Miller snapped this pic from the set of the Han Solo movie, and captioned it with ‘Can’t wait to get “shooting”!’ Star Wars fans will recognise that blaster as a DL-44, Han’s weapon of choice, missing a barrel-sight so that he can easily do a fast-draw. This picture means filming has officially started, and we’re a few steps closer to seeing the movie in cinemas!
