SWITCHED SPEEDWAYS

To unlock Mirror Mode, you need to finish each GP and Knockout Tour on 150cc, beat ten P-Switch challenges, find ten ‘?’ panels and collect ten Peach medallions in Free Roam, and then complete the Special Cup on 150cc again.

SUPER CIRCUITS

You can play courses inspired by the original Super Mario Kart in Free Roam! Certain P-Switch challenges kick off retro races, complete with old school soundtracks! Classics include Koopa Beach, Choco Island, Vanilla Lake and Ghost Valley!

UP YOUR GAME

Want to see how the best players in the world tackle each track? If you have a Switch Online membership, you can! Simply go into the Time Trials mode, pick ‘View Rankings’ and download the ghost for the fastest time. You can then suss that racer’s style via the replay!

BACK IN!

If you fall off the track and Lakitu rescues you, hit accelerate just as your kart lands back on the track to boost away.

SECRET STATS

Drivers and vehicles both have stats for speed, acceleration, weight and handling, but there are hidden stats too! Some characters excel on certain terrain. Cow is a dynamo on dirt, for instance, while Pianta powers ahead on water. It’s the same for vehicles too!

TRICKY!

Tap the powerslide button to do a trick every time you catch air and you’ll bank a boost when you land. You can do tricks to the left or right to reposition, or to leap from rail to rail!

COOL COSTUMES

There are 50 playable characters and 127 costumes to collect! You’ll need to chomp down on Dash Food bags to get the alternate outfits, and the quickest way is to play splitscreen co-op. Anyone who grabs new garb will unlock it for the main account!

PEACHY!

Peach rocks Odyssey outfits like her yukata, farmer getup and vacation clothes, as well as her sleek Aero suit from the Mario Bros. Movie!

THE YOU IN UFO

If you see a UFO in Free Roam, try and get sucked up by it as you can temporarily take control! You can also run up the ramps of semi-trailer trucks, hovercrafts and helicopters to drive around in something different!
