In Mario Kart World, roads criss-cross the entire map so you can actually drive between every single course! The world itself is massive with all sorts of different biomes, from fiery, lava-filled landscapes and dry dry deserts to foliage-filled forests, snow-covered circuits and watery worlds! Want to simply explore? Free Roam mode lets you do just that!

OH SO GRAND

Competition is fierce in Mario Kart World’s Grand Prixs! These tournaments take place across four circuits and you’ll need to perform in each if you want a place on the podium! The new courses are an absolute blast but there’s no rest for the racers as once you finish a course you double down and drive to the next! Letsa go!

NIMBLE NEW MOVES

Fans of Mario motorsports will be right at home in World thanks to its punchy powersliding, terrific tricks and insane items, but there are some game-changing new moves too! Drive into water and your kart will become a boat! Better still, courses are riddled with rails that you can grind along, even leaping from rail to rail or into a wicked wallride!

IT’S A KNOCKOUT!

The new Knockout Tour mode has to be one of the most exciting additions to Mario Kart World. In this cross-country dash, you race in a field of 24 from checkpoint to checkpoint, with racers at the rear being eliminated along the way. Can you careen from one side of the world to another and finish in the top four? Mega!

FUN WITH FRIENDS

There’s no better way to play Mario Kart than with friends and family, and World makes this more magical than ever before. Four player splitscreen is back, natch, but online play is now truly awesome! Our favourite feature is hopping into a party with friends to chat using the Switch 2’s in-built mic. You can even see each other’s screens!

A KOOKY CAST

It wouldn’t be a Mario Kart game without being able to pick the portly plumber and his pals, but this game drops some deep cuts too. Want to get around as a goomba? You can! How does it steer without hands? No idea! You can also motor as a Moo Moo, pick a penguin and select a Swoop! Characters have multiple outfits too!
