Fast Facts: Socceroo Mile Jedinak

Jedinak is leading Australia in the World Cup!

The biggest soccer event of the year is even closer! The Socceroos have jumped on a plane and are over in Brazil, training it up and prepping for the big matches ahead.

Leading the pack? Mile Jedinak. Socceroo Captain and all-round ace dude!

Mile Jedinak, Australian Socceroo Captain

Here are 6 things you need to know about the guy calling the shots on the field:

  1. Jedinak is only the 4th player to captain an Australian side at a World Cup. Cool!
  2. He started playing “club” footy for Sydney United when he was 16.
  3. During the regular football season, Jedinak plays midfield for Crystal Palace F.C. in the UK (AKA: tops English football team).
  4. He wears no 15 for Crystal Palace F.C. and will don the 15 for Oz in Rio, too.
  5. Jedinak has played in 43 games for the Socceroos since his debut in 2008 and has kicked 4 international goals. Score!
  6. He won the prestigious Australian Footballer of the Year award in 2013.

We reckon they’re pretty cool stats for a cap! Gooooo Mile!
