KZ: Hi Richard and Jordan! What was your favourite thing about working on Wylah’s story together?
R: Researching all the Aboriginal history and culture, it’s so rich and rewarding. Jordan has such a strong desire to build a bridge with non-indigenous people and to do that in a positive way.
J: I would say the same. I learned a lot about Richard's culture, as much as I learned about mine. The fact we are two creative people working on a meaningful project together, it's an amazing experience.
KZ: Do you have any advice for K-Zoners who want to write a book one day?
R: Write just the idea of the book, design a cover and see if you can convince someone to buy it. If people buy it and get excited about the idea, then start writing the full book.
J: It's definitely an uphill battle and a challenge of patience. A lot of people will have criticisms about your ideas, but if you stay true to your story, and keep other people's criticisms into account, you will do great.
KZ: Which of Wylah’s characteristics do you have, or wish you had?
R: I wish I had Wylah’s courage to face things I was afraid of when I was younger.
J: I'd say I would have Wylah's determination for the language and culture.
KZ: How would you describe the book using only three words?
R: Action, Adventure, Fun.
J:: Spearhead of Mainstream Culture.
