Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling has been driving fans crazy online with mysterious anagrams!
Rowling sent this cryptic message out to her followers on Monday:
“Cry, foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won’t tolerate this nonsense.”
It took Potter fans only a few hours to figure out that all the letters must mean something different when rearranged, but what?
When some fans started realising the letters could spell out “Harry Returns! Won’t say any details now! A week off! No comment”, everyone got heaps excited. People thought Rowling was hinting at a new Harry Potter book – that would be some pretty massive news!
However, a super smart fan finally figured out that the phrase was “Newt Scamander only meant to stay in New York for a few hours…".
So it turns out the anagram is about the upcoming film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is set in the Harry Potter universe and stars the ‘magizoologist’ Newt Scamander. Rowling was giving a sneaky hint about the plot of the movie.
How awesome would it be if there was another HP book!
