A STYLISH SETTING

Pokémon Legends Z-A takes players back to Lumiose City, the setting from Pokémon X/Y. This huge circular city has the impressive Prism Tower at its center, and has been designed as a haven for people and Pokémon to co-exist. There are ‘Wild Zones’ throughout the city, which are set up as Pokémon habitats, but you can catch wild Pokémon everywhere!

JOIN THE TEAM

You’ll choose to play as either Paxton or Harmony at the start of your journey. Pick Paxton and you’ll make friends with Taunie, choose Harmony and you’ll become buddies with Urbain. Either way, your new pals will invite you to join Team MZ and work to keep Lumiose City safe alongside Naveen, an up-and-coming fashion designer, and Lida, a talented dancer.

I CHOOSE WHO!?

As always, there are three starter Pokémon to pick between. This time, it’s Chikorita, a grass type with a large leaf on its head that has a gentle personality, Tepig, a fast-moving fire type that loves eating roasted berries and launches fireballs from its nostrils, and Totodile, a water type with a rowdy personality and potently powerful jaws.

DAY VERSUS NIGHT

Lumiose City changes completely when it moves from day to night. In the daytime you can explore, chatting to people and catching wild Pokémon. At night, you’ll compete in the Z-A Royale, doing battle with your Poké-party against rival trainers! You’ll start at Rank Z and fight your way up! Reach Rank A and you’ll be granted one wish!

REAL-TIME BATTLES

Turn-based battles have been turfed in favour of constant combat. In these fierce face-offs you’ll need to move your Pokémon around the battlefield, setting up for awesome attacks and devious dodges. Some moves have more reach than others or take longer to execute, so positioning and timing is everything! Practicing with your party will be more important than ever!

ROGUE AGENTS

Mega Evolutions are back! These temporary transformations can help turn the tide of battle, powering your Pokémon into a souped-up state! Be careful though, cos there are wild Pokémon throughout the city going rogue and Mega Evolving on their own. You’ll need to take on these rampaging rascals alongside a member of Team MZ and fight fire with fire.
