Star basketballer LeBron James has announced that he wants to become a 'free agent' from July 1, 2014.
The NBA forward is allowed to opt out of his contract with the Miami Heat to see if other teams can offer him a better deal, and it doesn't mean that he'll definitely leave the Heat.
While James has played for the Miami Heat, they've made it to 4 NBA Basketball Finals, so we reckon they'll want to keep him on the team!
K-Zone's resident NBA expert (Art Director Glen) reckons that James will actually stay with the Miami Heat. But look out for their other pricey players, namely Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, to become free agents too.
After losing to the Spurs in the most recent finals, and losing some key bench players to retirement, the Heat will want to strengthen their bench for next season. If Wade, Bosh and James re-sign for less money, the head honchos at the Heat will have some cash free to bring new superstars to the court.
"As for what teams will want him? He's currently the best player in the league, so everyone would want a piece." says Glen.
