Tonight, Aussie-up-and-comer Nick Kyrgios will play against world number six Andy Murray in the quarter finals, and we’re super excited about it. The match is the first time that an Australian man has made it to the Australian Open quarter-finals for 10 years, so it’s kind of a big deal.
Kyrgios is the youngest contender at 19 years old to make it to the quarter finals, and also the lowest ranked out of the talented 8. His shocking win against world number one Rafael Nadal last year at Wimbledon has made him the tennis player to watch!
Murray and Kyrgios have crossed paths before at the Canadian Masters in Toronto, where Murray won 6-2, 6-2, so the Canberran star is in for a challenge. But while Andy Murray is confident that he can see some weaknesses in Kyrgios’ game, Kyrgios will be the only one playing to a home crowd, and we know they’ll be cheering real loud! Whatever happens, it’s going to be epic.
Will you be watching K-Zoners? Who do you think is gonna win?
