Playing Now: Terra Nil

Playing Now: Terra Nil

‘Terra’ means ‘land’ and ‘nil’ means ‘nothing’, but there’s a whole lot of something going on in Terra Nil’s chill gameplay! Available On: PC, Mac, Android, iOS

The most terrifying part of Terra Nil is there isn’t any terror. Like, nil. In fact, Terra Nil is totes on the other end of the scary scale. As in, it’s super-duper chill. Speaking of opposite, it’s also at the other end of a city builder. In games like SimCity, Cities: Skylines and The Settlers, you build over nature. In Terra Nil, you build the nature. This space-age place (spoilers: it’s Earth) is really ruined. No trees, no grass, no furry critters; but it’s your gig to bring those back. Plop down a wind turbine for power. Throw out a few toxin scrubbers for fertile soil. Then add an irrigator, and see you later! Okay, not actually. That’ll bring back the green. Now gift the green to the entire scene. Next comes our fave bit: when you’re done, turn those structures into a spaceship and leave the land like you were never there at all!

PRO TIP!

Terra Nil is a super chill game. It’s totes okay to restart a map though! Experiment with your structure layout on the first try. Then take that knowledge into a map restart. This is the best way for perf building placement. Plus, nailing those trickier optional objectives!
