You’re A Sniper
You’re the squid everyone wants on their side, and definitely not on the enemy team! You have incred skills, and no Turf War is complete without you driving the opposing team mad by taking them out one by one, with a single shot from a crazy distance. You don’t usually score a lot of points, but your opponents should be careful – you are waiting up high, covering your team below and allowing them to cause chaos. Your team loves having your skills, as they find plenty of free space with no opponents and can get inking. You always have to remember to be careful though, coz someone from the other team could always sneak around behind you, or even target you long distance with a Special Weapon, leaving your team without protection above.
Mostly B’s
You’re A Rad Roller
Whether you’re still learning and trying to level up, or actually a bit of an expert, you grab a roller and run as fast as you can to cover heaps of turf for maximum points. If you’re new, it’ll be kind of obvious to other players, coz you do just run, even if it takes you straight towards an opponent and a brutal splatting. While you’re easy to shoot down, you’re still a risky player to have on the field, coz you cause lots of damage painting any and every surface you see. However, if you have mastered the game, you know how to cover turf and also splat any player that gets in your way. You can be deadly, able to roll over everything and kill an opponent with one shot, or sneak up in ink to crush them from behind with a roller slam.

You’re A Shadow
Look, you’re probably new to the game, and there’s nothing wrong with that! You have so many exciting Splatoon games to look forward to! Right now though, you have no clue what’s going on and so you do what seems to make sense – follow a player who looks like they know what to do, and copy their moves (like a shadow). Unfortunately in this game, that is not a great approach. Since a Shadow isn’t likely to ink new turf, you aren’t getting points for your team. The enemy has two players to aim for, and you cover less ground. One day, you’ll probably end up being the player with a Shadow, and you should try to get them to change directions, or swim ahead of them.
Mostly D’s
You’re Disconnected
Uhh, are you okay? Either you have a bad connection, Nintendo server problems, or just couldn’t resist running to grab a snack, but at the end of the day, you are that Inkling that didn’t even show up for the match! The Disconnected squid just stays completely still at the spawn point and doesn’t help with anything for the whole game. This is a bad strategy, coz doing nothing in a Turf War (or a Ranked Battle) can have disastrous results. Even someone who has never played any game before is better than the Disconnected squid, coz there’s still a chance they will be able to help cover turf. Being down one player to put ink on the ground, help with opportunities to push the enemy back, and jump to with deaths, is a big issue!
