BIGGER AND BETTER!

Switch 2’s screen is a stunner. It’s a lot larger than the original (7.9 inches versus 6.2 if you must know!), with a higher resolution for more detailed graphics. Plus, games can run at up to 120 frames per second, which means smoother play. Pair that with High Dynamic Range support and the difference should be night and day!

THE NEED FOR SPEED

If you were to poke around inside Nintendo’s nifty newcomer (not recommended!) you’d discover a custom processor that gives it ten times better performance than its predecessor! That’s a big boost and helps make games like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza so visually vibrant! The extra power does mean a shorter battery life in handheld mode though.

HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY

The new Joy-Cons click into the console magnetically now, which is wicked! It’s also great to see larger control sticks and SL/SR buttons. The most interesting change, though, has to be the fact that you can use the Switch 2’s Joy-Cons like a mouse! This means extra precision in controls and gives game developers another tool to play with!

I C YOU!

Say hello to the new C button! It lets you start a GameChat session with your Switch 2 friends using the built-in mic, so no headset required! With GameChat you can share your screen so your friends can see what you’re playing, and if you have a camera you can even see their faces while you play! Perfect for an MK marathon!

THE WISHLIST

The main reason to get a console is for its games, so it’s worth looking at the lineup and seeing what you’re excited about. Are you bonkers for Bananza? Crazy about Kirby Air Riders? Maybe you want to dive into an unknown tale from Hyrule’s past in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment? There’s plenty on the way so check ‘em all out!

UPGRADES

On Switch 2 you can also purchase upgraded editions of classics like Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. These games in particular will get new life through the Switch App, as you’ll be able to use GPS-style navigation, unlock achievements, share items with friends, discover new story elements and more!
