The BBC claimed they had discovered flying Adelie penguins on a remote island in Antarctica.

As proof, they even produced video footage, claiming the penguins were leaving the harsh Atlantic winter for a more pleasant climate in South America.

After the clip went viral and became one of the most viewed on the internet, the BBC later admitted the video had been cleverly edited to create the illusion of flying penguins!
