Back in 1966, Batman (played by Adam West) didn’t look quite as fierce in Batman: The Movie as he does today. In fact, he looked kinda ridic! One of the highlights of the movie was defs when he fought off a shark attached to his leg with his trusty “Shark Repellent Bat-Spray”.
Then in the 1989 Batman, his get-up got slightly cooler and his HQ became high tech (for the time!). Batman, AKA Michael Keaton, was unstoppable, but the really cool character in this movie was The Joker played by Jack Nicholson!
Next up was Batman: The Animated Series. It hit screens in 1992 and things got real. It had a killer soundtrack – written by Danny Elfman who made The Simpsons theme song – and became hugely popular. Their costumes kinda look like a mix between the first Batman movie and the 1989 movie – they were serious crime-fighters and ready for action!
Then Christian Bale came along and changed the face of Batman. Batman became dark, commanding and, most importantly, had epic ninja skillz! He’s been responsible for Batman’s cool image in BatmanBegins (2005) The Dark Knight (2008)and The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
In 2014, Batman got a whole lot blockier on cinema screens and became one of the main characters in The LEGO Movie. And word on the street is it’s not going to stop there – a LEGO Batman Movie is rumoured to be released in 2017!
