We sussed out Wii U news from E3! Get yourself up-to-date with these three major announcements:
First up....
Wii announced the 5 sports new to
Sports Club. They are tennis, bowling, golf, baseball and boxing. Which one will you dominate?
What's up?! Zelda's what's up...
This news is so hot off the press that the just announced Legend of Zelda doesn’t even have a name yet! It’ll be on Wii U though so for now it’s just being called The Legend of Zelda Wii U. From the trailer shown at E3, Link will be the hero (duh!) and we’re going to go out on a limb here and say he might be involved in rescuing Zelda from some kind of bad news.
The Link in the trailer uses a bow to take on a steam punk octopus/tree hybrid. The graphic style is similar to Skyward Sword and it seems like the super-realistic Wii U tech demo from E3 two years ago was a tease.
Link’s awesome horse Epona looks like she’ll be featured in the new game. Plus, It’s also been revealed the new game will have a massive open world where gamers can tackle puzzles in whatever order they like. Sounds like the perfect mix of fan service and new ideas!
Next Up...Splatoon.
Our Wii U will be lucky to have a rest if more ideas like Splatoon keep coming. A twist on the word “platoon” – a term the army uses for “squad” – Splatoon will be out early next year and will be one of the craziest four-versus-four shooters you’ll be able to play.
Armed with ink (way more interesting than guns!) and playing as squid-like characters, you and your team must blast enemies, covering everything you can with as much ink as possible. It’s messy and insane!
Underneath the craziness will be the need for a huge amount of strategy – you have to think your way to victory. Hiding, refilling your ink tank and choosing when to attack will be vital skills for would-be Splatoon champs. Splat!
DID YOU KNOW?
Splatoon was created during a Nintendo game jam where employees shared their best new ideas!
