PLUMBER PARKOUR

It sounds obvious, but make an effort to master Mario’s moves. Long jumps, triple jumps, side somersaults and backflips are super useful, while using a spin attack in the air is a great way to get extra height or adjust a jump. Spin attacks can be paired up with just about every other move, so get spinning!

THE SPACE RACE

The cosmic races are totes tricky challenges, pitting Mario against an inky blue, starstruck version of himself, and requiring pin-point platforming and advanced techniques. Get a speed boost out of the gate by holding forward at the start of the countdown, then pressing and holding Z as it reaches “2”, then hit A at “GO!”

BIG UP THE BRO

There’s a radical reward for collecting all 120 stars in Super Mario Galaxy – you can unlock that lime coloured legend, Luigi! How? Once you’ve snagged all the stars, chat to Rosalina and request a rematch with Bowser. Beat the big bad again and you’ll be able to play as Mario’s super sibling!
