I am going to rank seven beasts in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, from still-a-favourite-but-just-not-the-most to my absolute most favourite… Look, I really love all the creatures in Newt’s suitcase so this is going to be difficult!
If you haven’t seen the movie, be warned! There may be spoilers below! If you have seen the movie, you should totally let me know in the comments what your favourite beast is – or tell me your own personal ranking for these seven!
7. Swooping Evil
This magical creature is pretty dangerous, but I’m a big fan of how it helped Newt and Tina while they were cornered in the MACUSA headquarters.
6. Demiguise
Being able to turn invisible and see the future is a pretty cool combo of powers, and I really loved how caring and cheeky the Demiguise was in the movie! Especially when we found out that it was looking after the next beast…
5. Occamy
A choranaptyxic creature, the Occamy can grow or shrink to fit available space, and the scene where Newt and the team try to capture it had me on the edge of my seat!
4. Thunderbird
The Thunderbird in the movie, Frank, was rescued from traffickers in Egypt by Newt, and is such a beautiful beast! I loved seeing Frank fly around New York, creating a thunderstorm with his six wings. Frank is a bit of a hero!
3. Erumpent
The scene with the Erumpent in Central Park Zoo was so funny AND terrifying at the same time. The fact that Erumpents can use their horn to inject things with a fluid that makes things explode is also just insanely cool!
2. Niffler
I mean, what else can I say except that the Niffler scenes were probably some of the absolute best parts of the whole movie.
1. Bowtruckle
Now, I know I just said Nifflers were amazing, but every time I saw Pickett, the Bowtruckle that was too attached to leave his hiding spot in Newt’s top pocket, I wished I had my own little Bowtruckle to hang out with! Imagine all the sneaky pranks and adventures you could have if you had a Bowtruckle helping you!
Let me know in the comments below how you would rank these seven beasts!
Psst! If you’re a Potterhead, I just HAD to mention that I chose seven beasts because seven is the most powerful magical number in the wizarding world!
