Aim for a balanced Pokemon team. You want to protect against as many Pokemon weaknesses as you can, and still have access to strong attacks. Combine high speed/high attack and low health Pokemon (like Alakazam) with high health defensive Pokemon (like Will-o-Wisp), and switch out the hard-hitting ones for the healthier one during battle.
