How the Egyptian pyramids were built has long stumped science boffins, so much so they were declared the 8th Wonder of the Ancient World!
Looks like the pyramid professors might have worked out one part of the mystery though...
The HUGE bricks that were used to build the pyramids were transported inland over huge distances, and peeps could never work out how the ancient Egyptians managed this (there weren't any utes back then).
They figured they must have dragged them on rolling logs, but how come those logs weren't worn away by the abrasive sand?
The answer? Wet sand, but not too wet.
Scientists have worked out that if the sand in front of the rolling logs was sprinkled with water (but not too much) the sand actually becomes a little firmer, and much easier to drag the logs (with the bricks on top) over.
P.S. Oi, Spynxy! Stop
photo-bombing the pyramid!
Before this discovery, a lot of people suggested that maybe aliens moved the bricks. Looks like this theory is literally out of this world.
Sorry buddy.
No mystery here, this is just a human pyramid. Nice try, guys!
