Focus on inking the level first, then on splatting foes. As you level up, pick an ink-dispenser that matches how you wanna play. Shooters are a good mix of inking and splatting. Rollers are more about inking the stage than splatting opponents. Charges deal big splat damage. Sloshers paint big areas. Splatlings are good for splatting crowd control. Dualies let you run and gun.
