Here at K-Zone, we’ve heard so many super good things about Darkmouth by Shane Hegarty and are heaps excited for its release this week! It’s all about the son of the last remaining Legend Hunter, Finn, and how he has to live up to his father’s role in a land of monsters, one blunder at a time. We got to hear from Finn about what it’s like to be a Legend Hunter, and facing your fears…
KZ: Do you do normal kid stuff like watch cartoons and play videogames?
Finn: The problem with computer games is that if you die, you just come back to life. Trust me, that's not how it works in real life.
KZ: How do you have time to do school stuff?
Finn: By not really doing the stuff other kids do, like play sport or do drama classes. My Dad keeps telling me get that all gets rolled in to one, with the Legend Hunter training.
KZ: What did you do for your last birthday party?
Finn: I've not really had many birthday parties. I don't have many friends in Darkmouth. It's tricky to bring someone to the house when you're worried they might get mauled by a loose Ophiotaurus.
KZ: What was the last text you sent?
Finn: "Dad? Where are you Dad? This Minotaur I'm supposed to be chasing is now chasing me."
KZ: Top 5 things you wanna do this year:
Finn:
1. Stay alive
2. Not die.
3. Not get caught somewhere between being alive and dying.
4. End the scourge of invading Legends forever.
5. Get my maths project finished.
