WHAT TO PACK

You’ll need a pretty solid toolkit to rid the world of Piglins. Try taking:

• The Hero’s Sword – excellent for scaring off the enemy.
• A lute – use it to ask Allays to help you out.
• The Banner of Courage – wave it to rally the troops.
• The Flames of Creation – can summon allies to fight alongside you.

KNOW YOUR ENEMY

Getting to know the Piglins will help you work out how to defeat them. You should know that:

• Grunters are the smallest, weakest type and are low on health.
• Runts carry oversized weapons, so watch out!
• Piggos are good at breaking down your defences.
• Bruisers have terrifying swords and strong armour.
• Lava Launchers fire lava cubes at you.
• Portal Guards wield extendable hammers that deal a lot of damage.

CRAFT YOUR STRATEGY

There’s no one way to solve the Piglin problem, so form a plan that plays to your strengths. In Minecraft, it always pays to have a Plan B and C up your sleeve too.

MAKE IMPROVEMENTS

When you first enter the Overworld, you’ll spy the Well of Fate. While the urge to roam far and wide is always strong, heading back to the start and visiting this structure will allow you to build improvements that power up your hero’s abilities.

DON’T GO IT ALONE

There are friends everywhere in the Overworld, including old enemies like Creepers and Skeletons. They’re your allies this time around and will help you on your quest. As you explore, you’ll meet all kinds of creatures with skills like super speed and amazing climbing abilities. Take ‘em as a mount and watch the Piglins sweat! You can also swing into co-op mode and recruit up to three real life friends to back you up along the way.

MAKE USE OF FAST TRAVEL

Head to a village fountain to travel quickly to other villages you’ve already discovered. Piglins love to destroy these fountains though so make sure you defend them!

CHECK YOUR RESOURCES

The good news is the Overworld is jam-packed with all the resources you could ever need. Stock up before a battle – your Allay pals will do the work for you.

LOOK FOR LAPIS

It will help you spawn new allies in your fight against the Piglins! Where to find it? Err, on the Piglins. They carry it. Gulp.

FIND BOOSTS

Speed wheat and bounce caps will help you get through biomes faster. They are scattered all across the Overworld so keep your eyes peeled.

AVOID POISON VINES

A hero hasn’t got time for negativity! These annoying plants will inflict damage and take away the super handy effects of speed wheat and bounce caps. Don’t let them ruin your day.
