Minecraft’s deadliest destination is getting a whole lot deadlier. In the Nether, steer clear of the tusked terror of the all-new mobs. Hoglins! These hostile hogs don’t like players. Or the other new mob: the (literally) pig-headed Piglins. Maybe that’s coz Piglins hunt Hoglins. Piglins def love gold. And they hate you pinching from their chests.
There are a few new non-Bionicle biomes in the Nether Update. First, the forests. Netherwart Forest Blue is kinder to you. There’s food. Base building. And respawning options. But Netherwart Forest Red is dense and dangerous. Expect to get lost lots! Then check out the fog, flames and fully massive fossils of Soulsand Valley.
Fans of rad Redstone creations are gonna love this. Nether Update has Target Blocks. Tag the Target Block with an arrow from a bow or crossbow. Or a trident, if you’re feeling Aquaman-ish. This releases a Redstone signal. Bullseye shots boost the signal. We can’t wait to see the crafty contraption creations that use the Target Block!
Put the ‘mine’ into Minecraft with cool creator tools. Fingers crossed it drops with the Nether Update, but we do know it’s coming soon ASAP! These new tools let you completely spice-up how your avatar looks. Add groovy new animations. Funky new particle effects. Put yourself in the game. Or recreate your fave characters. Or create goofy avatars.
The Target Block ain’t the only new Nether Update block on the, uh, block. We’re totes countin’ at least 13 more. Most of these are mysterious Netherwart Forest newies. And there’s secretive Nether-themed grass, fiery Soul Sand blocks, and the rocking-out speleothem blocks. Plus, Blue Fire Blocks: flamin’ awesome inclusions that’re just like reg Minecraft fire, only bluer!
