Hostile Minecraft mobs like zombies are super angry and attack as soon as you come into their range. Hint, in Creative Mode, hostile mobs will behave like passive mobs.

Another hostile minecraft mob? Creepers. These guys will come close and explode, destroying you and them. They can sense you from 16 blocks away and your best bet for beating them is a bow and arrow.

Neutral Minecraft mobs won't attack you unless you provoke them, but sometimes it's not that hard to do! With these guys (Endermen) all you have to do is look at them to provoke them.

Tame Minecraft mobs like wolves can be used for various purposes like warding off hostile mobs and transportation. (FYI Creepers are afraid of Ocelots!)

Passive Minecraft mobs: these chilled guys won't attack you no matter how much you provoke them! Other passive mobs are: chickens, villagers, cows and pigs.
