We reckon you should choose Modern Mode when you first start DKC Returns as this gives the dynamic duo an extra heart each. Some missions are still going to be terrifically tricky, but if you lose eight lives in one level you can send in the computer-controlled Super Kong to show you how it’s done!

Be sure to visit Cranky Kong’s shop as the ageing ape sells all sorts of invaluable items. Want to be (temporarily) invincible? Need help finding all the puzzle pieces in a level? Low on lives? The cranky coot can help! Definitely buy the map key for each world as you’ll get access to new levels and shortcuts.

Want to find the bananas bonanza of collectables in Returns? Always interact with scenery like bulbous plants and dandelions, check for hidden passages at every turn and ground pound funny surfaces in case they hide a trap door. Item too high? Hold jump when you bounce off an enemy’s back for extra spring!
