Thieves have stolen three magical tomes on the island of Monoth, and it’s up to Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy to get them back. With co-op for up to four players, Disney Illusion Island is at its finest with friends and family. The gameplay is simple starting out, but you’ll steadily unlock new abilities as you go, including wall jumps, glides and the ability to ground pound through certain surfaces, opening up new areas on the map. Illusion Island’s not about pummelling punks so doesn’t have any direct combat. Instead, adversaries are to be avoided, while bosses are beaten by triggering traps in the terrain. Video game vets might find the gameplay a bit too familiar, but Illusion Island has a heap of heart, with a superb sense of humour. This even extends to the amazing animations for each character. Food fanatic Goofy, for instance, grapple swings using a link of hot dogs and glides by squeezing a tube of mustard! Tasty!
PRO TIP!
If someone in your co-op crew needs help, Disney Illusion Island’s got you covered! It has a dedicated hug button to give both players a free heart, and you can even do things like lower a rope down so a companion can climb up to a tricky to reach platform.
