We saw an awesome new side to Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, but in Showtime! we’re treated to about ten more! The Sparkle Theater has been taken over by a baddie called Grape and her gang The Sour Bunch, and now they’re putting on their own shameful shows. Thankfully, Peach can join each production with an assist from The Sparkle Theater’s guardian Stella, who helps her transform to play the part! Cowgirl Peach can lasso enemies and speed after Grape’s sour goons on horseback. Figure Skater Peach glides gracefully across the icy stage, running circles around the hopeless hijackers. Our favourite has to be Ninja Peach as she can run across rooftops, attack with kunai and disguise herself as a wall or clump of grass to fool foes. Showtime! might be a little easy for video game veterans, but younger players will enjoy this acting adventure.

PRO TIP!

There are ten Sparkle Gems to collect in each level and they appear in order so if you missed one you can work out what part of the level it’ll be in! Also keep an eye out for telltale spotlights or mismatched sections of ground. Strike a pose on these to be rewarded!
