HYRULE RULES
It’s not called Breath of the Wild 2, but Tears of the Kingdom is totes a stacked sequel. No need to rush back and replay BotW! Here’s the sitch. You’re back in Hyrule and there’s totes more than just the familiar grassy planes. Like, fly planes high above. Or sink into the deadly light-hating Depths for more monster-stuffed adventures.
SWEET SAGES
There are sweet Sage abilities to nab. Our fave: Sage of Wind. It gives you a gust of air from behind for extra gliding range! Use Sage of Water to tame fire. Sage of Lighting for shockingly awesome attacks. Sage of Fire to turn up the heat. Plus, a rad fifth ability we won’t spoil here.
ULTRAHANDY HELP
The all-new Ultrahand ability is ultra-handy. Use it to grab items, like underwater chests or sand-covered treasures. Then start combo-ing items. Make makeshift karts, throw together sleds – basically, pop packs of pro props together! Move and stick any item that’s highlighted with Ultrahand view. Wanna fix a sticky stuff-up? Shake the right stick to detach and try again.
FUSE FUN
Fuse is another power you’ll love to lean on. Pop Fuse to combo your sword or shield with nearby stuff. Like, an explosive barrel on a shield for a big-boom parry! Or a rocket on a shield for high-speed take-offs. Plus, a boulder on a sword for cracking rocks (or baddy noggins).
HEAPS HIGH
There’s stacks of up-high stuff in TotK! Like free-fall races, epic glides to reach floating platforms, or swimming up waterfalls to sky-high ruins. Phase through the roof with the ace Ascend ability. Need to get higher? Toss a pinecone in a fire, leap into a giant water bubble, or trampoline off giant ship sails!
RAD RECALL
The other peak power we’re obsessed with is Recall. If we recall correctly, Recall is all about rewinding time. See that giant stone tumbling out of the clouds? Hit it with Recall to ride it back up! Then bounce between Recall, Ultrahand and other ace abilities to crack plenty of peak puzzles.
